An Inspiring Evening in a Delightful Atmosphere

During the past four years, the Office Depot Foundation Tropical Holiday Celebration has become a much-anticipated highlight of the annual social and philanthropic calendar. Since Weekend in Boca is now taking place in the spring, we are pleased to introduce a new event for a new season: the Office Depot Foundation Tropical Springtime Celebration! This year’s event, scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2012, is certain to uphold the stellar reputation established by its predecessors.

The Tropical Springtime Celebration will take place in the Grand Ballroom at the magnificent Boca West Country Club. The Florida-themed affair will begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m., followed by a wonderful dinner and inspiring program at 6:30 p.m.

Keynote Speaker — Dr. Michael Guillen

The Foundation is absolutely delighted to announce that the keynote speaker for the Tropical Springtime Celebration is Dr. Michael Guillen, Chairman and CEO of Philanthropy Project and producer of the new film, Little Red Wagon, that tells the compelling story of young philanthropist Zach Bonner and his remarkable efforts to raise awareness about the issues faced by homeless youth in America.

Honoring Outstanding Service to Mankind

Highlighting the Tropical Springtime Celebration will be the presentation of the 2012 Office Depot Foundation Listen Learn Care Awards. The Foundation’s signature awards program annually recognizes up to five individuals from around the country who have distinguished themselves through outstanding creativity, innovation and achievement in serving the community of mankind.

Award recipients may come from the worlds of non-profit organizations, business, government or volunteer service. Criteria for selection as an honoree include:

Boundless compassion
Extraordinary vision
Exceptional leadership ability and skills
Unwavering commitment and persistence in helping others
Proven success in developing and implementing programs or initiatives that meet community needs

The Office Depot Foundation is pleased to announce that the following individuals will receive Listen Learn Care Awards in 2012:

Jay DiPietro, President, COO and General Manager, Boca West Country Club
Dr. Michael Guillen, Chairman and CEO of Philanthropy Project and producer of Little Red Wagon
Pam O'Brien, President and CEO, Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, Inc.
Emmanuel "Manny" Ohonme, Founder, President and CEO, Samaritan's Feet International

Honoring Exceptional Collaboration

The Office Depot Foundation is pleased to present its very first Collaboration Award during the Tropical Springtime Celebration. Criteria for this new award include:

Active participation with the Office Depot Foundation in accomplishing shared goals
Extraordinary vision and commitment to the organization’s mission
Exceptional leadership in encouraging and practicing collaboration
Proven success in developing and implementing programs and initiatives that integrate collaborative strategies

The recipient of the inaugural Collaboration Award is Feed The Children. The Office Depot Foundation collaborates with Feed The Children on a number of strategic priorities and initiatives, including its award-winning National Backpack Program, its disaster relief and recovery efforts and its Caring is Sharing Product Donation Program.

Tickets and Registration
